We’re looking for compassionate, creative, and skilled early childhood educators to join our team and help launch Parkway Village Preschool, a new public PreK Charter School in West Oahu for 3- and 4-year-old children.
Parkway Village Preschool will be located at 689 Manawai Street #E114, Kapolei, HI 96706, at the newly developed Parkway Village at Kapolei within walking distance of Hoʻokele Elementary School. Our preschool is dedicated to sparking curiosity and fostering a love for learning in every child. We provide a supportive environment that embraces families and celebrates diversity and creating a strong foundation for learning and development. Parkway Village Preschool combines high-quality early childhood education with a commitment to inclusivity, ensuring that every childʻs unique potential is recognized and encouraged. We encourage play-based and experiential learning while nurturing social, emotional, and cognitive growth to prepare children for kindergarten and future success.
Position: Preschool Teacher
Employment Status: Full Time, Exempt
Work Hours: Monday through Friday (Day Shift) 7 hours a day, 35 hours per week.

Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored and holistic early childhood education services in alignment with state early learning standards and the latest advances in the early childhood education field.
- Implement an engaging, age-appropriate curriculum that aligns with the school’s educational philosophy and objectives.
- Use creative activities and structured play to promote language, cognitive, and social development. Incorporate Hawaiian culture, language, and values into lessons and classroom activities.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to classroom staff, assuming the role of a supervisor for the staff reporting to you.
- Tracking and monitoring the development of all children using the school’s assessment system. Observe, assess, and document each child’s progress, strengths, and areas of growth. Use assessments to adapt teaching strategies and individualize learning experiences for each child. Regularly communicate with parents and guardians about their child’s development and progress.
- Create and manage a positive and inclusive environment where all children feel safe, respected and valued.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- A bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or child development with two years' experience working with young children and families OR a bachelor’s degree in another field with 6 courses in Early Childhood Education.
- One year of experience supervising teaching staff in Early Childhood Education.
- Have a license that shows completion of a state approved teacher education program in early childhood education in the State of Hawaii and meet Hawaii Teacher Standards Board requirements OR currently enrolled in a state-approved teacher education program working towards satisfying the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board licensing requirements
