After School Care Leader
Maryknoll School is currently recruiting for After School Program Leaders to join our team. The Extended Learning Department works closely with the school community providing programming to our Maryknoll students. We strive to foster a collaborative and inclusive atmosphere among staff while providing high quality programs, activities, and events to the Maryknoll community. This position provides support to after school programs and extended learning programs including but not limited to academic, homework support, enrichment activities and supervised recreation. Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
Schedule:
· Monday to Friday after school 2:15 - 5:15 for SY 2023-2024
Responsibilities:
Supervision and Safety:
· Ensure the safety and well-being of students during the after-school program.
· Supervise students during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and protocols.
· Implement and enforce school policies to maintain a safe environment.
Activity Planning and Implementation:
· Plan and organize age-appropriate activities, games, and crafts that promote social, emotional, and physical development.
· Create a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages student participation and fosters a sense of community.
Homework Assistance:
· Ensure students are provided a clean, quiet space to complete homework.
· Foster a positive attitude toward learning by offering guidance and encouragement.
Communication:
· Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents, and school staff.
· Report any concerns or incidents to the appropriate school authorities promptly.
Behavior Management:
· Implement positive behavior management strategies to ensure a respectful and inclusive environment.
· Address behavioral issues promptly and collaboratively with school policies.
Record Keeping:
· Maintain accurate attendance records for the after-school program.
· Complete any required documentation related to incidents, accidents, or notable events.
Collaboration:
· Work collaboratively with other After School Care Leaders and school staff to create a cohesive and supportive team.
· Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in education or related field is a plus).
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
