Kona Brewing Hawaii has an immediate opening for a Retail Associate at our Kona Brewpub. This position reports to the General Manager. The Retail Associate will assist customers with purchasing merchandise by providng excellent customer service and support.
Specific job duties include:
Support the company’s Statement of Purpose and Values.
Support company’s best practices for safety initiatives, and OSHA compliance. Supports safety programs, policies, and procedures.
Greets and interacts with customers.
Consults with customers to understand their needs and preferences related to merchandise.
Demonstrates and explains merchandise, selecting and suggesting options suitable for the customer’s needs.
Answers customer’s questions about merchandise.
Assists customers with purchase decisions.
Collects payment using the point-of-sale system.
Accurately close out daily sales reports and register.
Learn the layout of the store and storage and keep everything tidy and stocked.
Retrieves merchandise from stock room, or other inventory locations.
Supports with inventory.
Processes returns and exchanges.
Support the host team with opening/closing.
Position requirements:
1 - 2 years of retail experience preferred
Experience to include sales transactions using cash, credit cards, and debit cards
Excellent sales and customer service skills
Ability to operate or to quickly learn the point of sale system
Excellent verbal communication skills
Excellent active listening skills
Ability to multi-task
Excellent problem solving skills
Works well independently and cooperatively in a team environment
Dependable
Adaptable, flexible
Extensive knowledge of the merchandise sold
Ability to anticipate customers needs
Ability to recomment merchandise to customers
Physical demands include - lifting, carrying, standing, bending, and reaching
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Stands and walks during 6-8 hour shift
