Level-2 Electronic Security Systems (ESS) Technician
We are seeking a skilled Level-2 Electronic Security Systems (ESS) Technician to join our team in the Computer Hardware, Electronics & Telecommunications industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electronic security systems across various customer sites. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in ESS systems and the ability to work in diverse environments.
Responsibilities
Install and route various types of ESS cables through conduits, above ceilings, and between floors.
Set up cable trays, J-hooks, network cabinets/racks, wire management, patch panels, and other support infrastructure.
Read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams to understand ESS equipment functions and installation procedures.
Perform installation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities on ESS systems.
Execute complex ESS equipment installations.
Set up and configure servers, PC workstations, and user interfaces.
Conduct preventative maintenance for various customers and ESS systems.
Handle service calls for ESS systems across different customer sites.
Oversee and assist Level-1 technicians with duties and responsibilities.
Train Level-1 technicians on ESS installation and troubleshooting techniques.
Complete and submit daily reports on completed work and any pending issues.
Perform warehouse duties and inventory management as assigned.
Participate in job-related training classes and courses as required.
Maintain professionalism and a positive attitude while working in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Requirements
Must pass pre-employment screening, including a criminal background check and drug screening.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Minimum of two years of experience in ESS installation, operations, maintenance, and management.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to use tact and diplomacy when dealing with customers.
Basic functional knowledge of electricity, electronics, computers, and technology.
Working knowledge of test equipment (multi-meters, cable testers, battery analyzers, meters, etc.).
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
Proficient with hand and power tools, cable testers, and meters.
Willingness to work occasional weekends and after-hour shifts as needed.
Ability to travel throughout the INDOPACIFIC region (up to 25% annually).
Strong critical thinking and teamwork skills.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.
At least one current certification in any of the following systems: Lenel OnGuard, Genetec Security Center, Software House (C-Cure 9000), Axis, Avigilon, Bosch, or DSC.
Familiarity with various ESS equipment from different manufacturers.
