The Server is responsible for providing an interface with the guests and members at the restaurant, providing excellent customer service.
The Server’s main responsibility is to ensure that each guest is greeted with a warm and friendly welcome.
The Server ensures that each guest’s order is taken in a friendly and timely manner.
Ensures that guests receive their correct food and drink orders, answers inquiries relative to items on menu and otherwise attends to the needs of all guests and members.
Essential Functions:
Greeting Guests:
Welcomes and creates a warm, fun atmosphere for guests and coworkers.
Greets newly seated guests in a friendly and timely manner.
Takes drink orders at guest greeting, delivers beverages and offers appetizers.
Answers questions regarding food and drink items and their preparation. Informs guests of specials and menu changes.
Takes entree orders and repeats order to guest for verification before placing order.
Enters orders quickly and in proper sequence, using appropriate abbreviations and charges.
Food Delivery and Order Management:
Runs food for guests in their section, as well as for any other section in the restaurant.
Checks back after delivery of food to ensure guest satisfaction.
Maintains clean service areas.
Maintains table appearance by pre bussing, checks drink levels, removes clutter and provides adequate napkins as needed.
Monitors guests' dining experience.
Responds promptly and courteously to any requests.
Communicates with the kitchen staff to insure any issues regarding food quality are addressed.
Follows alcohol awareness procedures for preventing intoxication and dealing with intoxicated guests.
Notifies bartender or manager on duty if a guest should not be served.
Presents check for payment and provides change in a timely manner.
Follows appropriate accounting procedures for closing checks.
Any discounts must be authorized by the Restaurant Manager and documented on the receipt.
Gives guests/members a warm farewell and invites them to return.
Secondary Functions:
Performs side work at the start and end of each shift as assigned.
Performs all other duties and responsibilities in a timely manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures and as assigned by the Restaurant Manager.
Knowledge,Skills, and Abilities:
Education and/or Experience:
Requires a minimum of one-year previous food & beverage experience.
Requires previous cashiering experience.
Mathematical Skills:
Solid knowledge of math and the ability to accurately make change from cash transactions.
Ability to balance transactions at the end of each shift.
Other Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Must be able to operate point of sale system.
Ability to handle credit card transactions.
Maintains a favorable working relationship with all coworkers to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate to help keep high morale and productivity.
Requires ability to multitask.
Self-starter, self-motivated, adaptable, able to work with minimal direction in a high pressure environment.
Dresses according to dress code requirements, looking neat, clean and professional at all times.
Solid organizational and collaborative skills to work in a team environment.
A desire to learn and participate in the ongoing improvements and enhancement of the restaurant.
Language Skills:
Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively verbally with guests, coworkers and manager.

Work generally in an indoor setting.
Requires work in an environment with exposure to heat, moisture and cold.
Potential for superficial cuts and burns.

Physical Demands:
Requires the ability to safely lift and maneuver trays of food and other items up to 50lbs.
Requires some bending, stretching and pulling in the course and scope of the work.
Must be able to stand and work during entire work shift (at least for 5 hours).
Mental Demands:
Requires the ability to focus on multiple tasks simultaneously, work in a high paced, high-energy environment, with ongoing interruptions and ambient noise.
