Program Supervisor (PHO)

The Program Supervisor under the general direction of the Program
Director, the Program Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of daily
activities of the PHO team including administrative and service delivery components at
the YWCA of Hawai'i Islands.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises 6 to 7 employees/Para-Professional and Professional. Carries out
supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable
laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning,
assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining
employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience
Master's degree (M. A.) in Social Work, Human Development, or other related human
Services field preferred. Three years’ experience in a clinical setting and two years in
human services program management preferred.
Bachelor's degree in one of the areas described above with five years experience in a.
clinical setting and two years human services management experience will be considered.

Other Qualifications
• Must possess a current Hawaii Driver’s License.
• Must have use of dependable automobile.
• Must have clean driving abstract.
• Must have a clean criminal background/record check.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• TB clearance desirable.
• First Aid and CPR desirable.

Other Skills and Abilities
• Must be organized, flexible, self-directed, and a strong leader.
• Must possess excellent communication skills, be self-directed, flexible, ability to
  train staff and team leader.
• Demonstrate understanding of child abuse and neglect dynamics, child
  development and Parent-Child Interaction.
• Must demonstrate skill in interviewing, in communicating, with professionals in
  the community, and in word processing and basic
  computer knowledge.
• Must have knowledge of the community and related issues and concerns; culture and customs;        organizations, groups, and associations.
