Bartender

GENERAL SUMMARY: Bartenders serve food and beverages in a friendly, courteous, responsible and timely manner. Bartenders are to ensure all guests receive the best possible experience, and should demonstrate a complete knowledge of your restaurant and a genuine passion for service.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-3 years restaurant experience
  • 1+ years Bartending or Serving
  • Must be in possession of a valid Blue Card prior to hire (issued by the HI County Dept of Liquor Control) prior to start of first shift
  • Must have basic liquor, beer, and wine knowledge
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask and keep calm in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle guest requests and needs in a professional and pleasant manner
  • Contributes to building and maintaining a positive work culture at all times
  • Knowledge and Understanding of Liquor Commission standards and company alcohol policies
  • A dependable means of transportation to and from work for all days scheduled
  • Flexible schedule, especially during busy seasons

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensure all safety, sanitation and liquor standards per Hawaii State Law are strictly adhered to at all times
  • Maintain a clean and organized bar accordingly to all Hawaii Health and Safety Standards.
  • Ability to responsibly protect guests and the business from all that comes with running a bar
  • Maintain a professional relationship with all team members
  • Always maintain a professional attitude “on stage”
  • Complete daily shift checklist for all pre-shift and post-shift responsibilities.
  • Takes food and drink orders
  • A full knowledge of all menu items both food and drink. 
  • Able to recreate our drink recipes correctly offering guests consistency
  • Able to take any guest on a tour of what we are and what we have to offer
  • Maintaining and clearing tables/bar during dining experience
  • Constant communication with the team and MOD, must inform MOD of any disruptions that may affect quality or timing of service.
  • Understands when to ask for help, within the team
  • Handling and communicating guest special needs or requests
  • Knowledge of guest dietary restrictions and preferences
  • Knowledge of hours of operation, entertainment schedules, restaurant address /phone number
  • Adheres to all safe cash handling procedures/payments
  • Performs all pre/post shift duties, and other duties as assigned by management staff.

 

** As a Bartender you may be asked to preform duties outside of your job description to support the  team.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Standing/moving for up to 8-10+ hours
  • Ability to climb stairs

Compensation: $14.00 / Hourly
