Host/Hostess

GENERAL SUMMARY: Hosts/Hostesses are the initial and final representative of our restaurant. They are responsible for the Guests first impression, either by phone or in person. Hosts are gatekeepers to the best party in town and need to display that fact in all their actions. Your interactions need to enhance our guest’s experience from the phone call to our goodbye.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Contributes to building and maintaining a positive work culture at all times

· Flexible schedule, especially during busy seasons

· A dependable means of transportation to and from work for all days scheduled

· Excellent verbal communication skills

· Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment

· Ability to handle guest requests and needs in a professional and pleasant manner

· Ability to learn the phone and reservation system

 

DESIRED SKILLS:

· Restaurant experience

· Confident, friendly and outgoing

· Highly organized

· Ability to anticipate waitstaff and guest needs

· Eagerness to learn and grow at all times

· Food safety/sanitation knowledge

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Creates and fosters a positive environment at all times

· Ensure all safety and sanitation standards are strictly adhered to at all times

· Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment

· Greet guests upon arrival/answer phone calls within 3 rings

· Knowledge of reservation, phone and POS system(s)

· Mapping out each shifts seating

· Getting all reservation notes to MOD, Chefs and servers

· Able to run the front desk and handle any wait lists

· Adheres to all safe cash handling procedures/payments

· Seating guests to our standard and in a proper rotation

· Assist in bussing tasks

· Constant communication with the team and MOD

· Understands when to ask for help, within the team

· Handling and communicating guest special needs or requests

· Knowledge of menus, hours of operation, entertainment schedules, restaurant address and phone number

· Must be able to load/unload and carry a tray up to 25+lbs

· Performs all pre/post shift duties, and other duties as assigned by management staff

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

· Standing/moving for up to 10+ hours

· Ability to climb stairs

Compensation: $18.00 / Hourly
