Job Posting: Security Guard

Location: St. Theresa Church, Kihei

Hours: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM, 7 days/week

Status: Hourly, Non-exempt

Salary: $20.00/hour with statutory benefits

Supervisor: Pastor/Business Manager

Qualifications:

1. Must be 18 years old with a valid Hawaii driver’s license.

2. Minimum high school diploma or GED.

3. Must have a current security license (Guard Card).

4. Must have strong interpersonal skills.

5. Must submit to a criminal background check.

Responsibilities:

1. Monitor the Hale Kau Kau meal service and enforce the House Rules as established by the church.

2. Maintain high visibility on campus to deter illegal and inappropriate actions.

3. Patrol campus to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure buildings are secured.

4. Monitor and approach any unauthorized persons to guard against theft and vandalism, and to maintain the security of the campus, especially during church activities.

5. Investigate disturbances.

6. Call police/fire/ambulance in case of emergencies such as suspicious activity, fire, theft, or presence of unauthorized persons.

7. Escort and direct emergency personnel as necessary.

8. Daily report of checks made with date/time stamp.

9. Complete incident reports as necessary for damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences, to include safety hazards.
